The Luberon typical markets

If you wish to discover the villages of the Luberon, we recommend to go there on market days. A real institution renowned throughout France, the Provençal market is an opportunity to stroll through the alleys and squares, while familiarizing yourself with the local culture. On the program: colorful stalls, local products and a typically Provençal atmosphere.

What are the local market days?

So as not to miss these unmissable events, here is an overview of the weekly calendar of the markets of Provence (not exhaustive). Please note that some dates may change over time.

Tuesday Morning
Apt Farmer’s Market – Gordes – Vaison-la-Romaine

Wednesday Morning
Sault – Saint-Rémy-de-Provence – Pertuis – Cheval-Blanc

Thursday Morning
L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue – Roussillon

Friday Morning
Bonnieux – Bollène – Carpentras – Lourmarin, sur la place Henri Barthélémy

Saturday Morning
Pertuis – Pernes-les-fontaines – Manosque

Do not hesitate to inquire beforehand with our accommodation manager or the tourist office’s website  to make sure of the exact date of the markets that interest you. Some villages, for example, have no market, such as Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, and large cities have a market almost every day, such as Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, or the halls of Avignon, from Tuesday to Sunday. Some villages also offer a night market, such as the Lauris farmer’s market which takes place every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. during winter and from 6 to 8 p.m. in summer.

The tourist office can also be of good advice if you are looking for a particular product or producer, such as candied fruit or Gibassier.
